Teaching Through English: EMI for Lecturers and Subject Teachers
Teach your subject in English so students follow, think and speak.
For academics and subject teachers who teach in English as a second language. The focus is on clear explanation, interaction and quiet language support, not on turning you into an English teacher.
Who it is for
- Lecturers at Turkish universities with English-medium departments or programmes
- Science, maths and social studies teachers in schools with English-medium tracks
- Faculty teams preparing to launch or expand English-medium programmes
What you will be able to do
- Structure a lecture or lesson so that students can follow it in a second language
- Use questioning to check understanding without putting students on the spot
- Get quieter students speaking about subject content in English
- Give language support inside the subject lesson, at the moment students need it
- Design formative checks that test the subject rather than the English
- Deliver a short recorded mini-lecture and act on structured peer feedback

Questions about this course
What level of English do I need?
You should already be able to teach your subject in English, roughly B2 or above. The course improves how you teach in English rather than your general English.
Can our faculty take the course as a group?
Yes. Seven Academy can arrange closed groups for one institution, so examples and tasks reflect your own programmes. Contact us to discuss this.
Is this course only for universities?
No. Schools with English-medium subject teaching face the same challenges, and the course works for both.
