Engaging Teenagers: Motivation and Classroom Interaction

For secondary teachers facing exam pressure, phones and mixed motivation. The course combines an understanding of adolescence with a large, practical bank of activities that get teenagers talking, writing and taking part.

What you will be able to do

  • Explain what the adolescent brain means for motivation and behaviour
  • Prevent common behaviour problems and respond calmly when they happen
  • Set up pair and group activities that run smoothly and stay in English
  • Choose warmers, recycling games and fluency tasks with a clear aim
  • Connect lessons to teenagers' real interests and the wider world
  • Build a shared activity bank you can adapt for any coursebook
